The social emotional Why Try? Program is currently used by K-12 schools to integrate MTSS interventions and supports in educational institutions, group homes, mental health agencies and youth correctional facilities to teach valuable life skills. It may be used with individual student, small or large groups to help students answer the questions, why try in life.. The teaching materials target different learning modalities by utilizing visual analogies, music, videos, and experiential activities to make better decision in life that lead to opportunity, freedom, and self-respect. The overview session will introduce participants to the overall key concepts of the themes, the music, and a sample experiential activity to entice your interests in learning more about the program.
Outcomes for participants:
- Brief introduction to the Why Try Program and why it works with students who have challenging behaviors.
- Learn how to respond to daily life stressors that students can both understand and remember through multiple modalities.
